Week 24: No news, but maybe you can help me identify some species..?

05. June 2020

Summary:

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a good week. Times are pretty crazy right now, but here in Europe, step by step, some normality is returning. Let’s hope that it stays that way and that there are no setbacks.

First a small overview on the progress of this KS campaign:

1) Encyclopedia: Is finished and waiting for Darwin’s Choice and the expansion to be completed as well.

2) Darwin’s Choice + Expansion: Nothing has changed yet, i.e. the production date in early June is still valid. This is great news and fingers crossed that it remains like this!

3) Fulfillment: The fulfillment is organized, i.e. as soon as the production is ready, we can start immediately. As soon as the production date is 100% confirmed, we will inform you in a special update about the fulfillment process, so everybody knows when and how and from whom they will receive their package 🙂

Otherwise we are currently working on several “construction sites”. Samuel is currently creating a new, up-to-date prototype for the Zoo board game and is also taking care of social media and social media advertising for our next Kickstarter campaign. I’m working a lot on graphics and design right now, e.g. I designed the box for our jigsaw puzzles and made sketches for all assets of the upcoming KS campaign. In general, there is still much to organize/prepare for the KS campaign, e.g. because we want to start filming next week, the text and the plot of the project video has to be written/defined. At the same time, my brother’s company is currently rebuilding our website, which will be ready in early June. We are really looking forward to that, because the website has definitely been a construction site over and over again in the last years. And besides all these “exciting” things there is of course also “normal/boring” stuff to do, so Samuel and I cleaned the office on the weekend 😛

Last time Samuel showed you a bird that I couldn’t identify myself. This puzzle/riddle was solved incredibly fast – thanks again for that! Now I also looked at the last two puzzles and was able to identify most of the illustrated animal species, but there are still 13 species/illustrations which leave me clueless. I searched each of these species for hours without a joke and simply cannot find anything convincing. That’s why I wanted to ask you again if you could possibly put me on the right track. That would really help me a lot!

The only thing that is clear with these species is that they are found in the rainforest.

Let’s start with three birds. No.1 and 2. I honestly have no idea. For number 3, my best guess would be Golden-fronted leafbird.

Then we have four hummingbird-like birds. But theoretically they don’t have to be hummingbirds at all, there are also other species with long beaks like Sunbirds. For the “yellow” bird I would go with Little spiderhunter or Olive-backed sunbird (female). For the green-red bird I have no idea. The red bird could be a Juan fernandez firecrown (most probably not, but it’s the only red hummingbird I found) and the blue-violet bird could be a Velvet-purple coronet (but it is certainly not a Violet sabrewing, I identified this one at another place in the picture).

And then there are three butterflies. “Purple-Orange” looks quite distantly like Cyprotus blue or Rayed blue or Double-Spotted line blue; “Red-Black” could be a Callicore species, but none has these special black spots on the forewings. And for the butterfly with the white body I have no idea.

For every tip I am very grateful. If someone can help us with several species, I’m happy to give away a puzzle. Because I have been looking for so long and I just can’t find them. Thanks a lot, in any case.

Now I just wish you a great Sunday and hope that we can talk about the fulfillment next Sunday 🙂

With best regards,

Marc, Elio and Samuel

PS: This week I listen to a lot of classical music, that makes me creative 😉 here is a very inspiring piece to which I listen over and over again.
